COBRA SUPERVISOR - 4-2012-COBRA

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The primary role of the Supervisor, COBRA is to monitor and advise on the day to day activities of the COBRA staff. The supervisor will be directly responsible for the performance of the unit and provide the staff with a source for problem resolution. This position will lead the implementation, daily administration and renewal process of strategically critical accounts in order to significantly impact client satisfaction and retention.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Act as a Knowledge source for COBRA compliance
- Document and standardize internal procedures (e.g., unusual situations, appeals, workflows for payments, reprints)
- Serve as liaison between COBRA, Call Center, Benefit Administration and Consulting
- Plan and implement regulation changes and system upgrades
- Team Management
- Establish metrics to evaluate team performance
- Track and monitor performance metrics
- Conduct and document goal setting sessions, progress reports, and annual reviews
- Track and approve time-off requests
- Serve as a Knowledge source for the COBRA staff and assist in issue management and issue escalations
- Work with the Producers, Account Managers and Team Leaders to develop and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with clients
- Provide consulting services to clients by conducting client meetings and presentations
- Provide advice and recommendations to clients regarding COBRA compliance related issues as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Respond timely and effectively to any client inquiries, complaints or concerns
- Develop and implement solutions to client issues.
- Ensure that all COBRA related client data is processed correctly in all Trion systems and is kept up-to date; update information with vendor carriers, as required.
- Including applications, election forms and employer and employee plan information;
- Review/revise plan materials and communicate plan updates and changes to clients and their employees
- Assist in developing and providing training on COBRA related procedures, deliver training to clients as required
- Collect all information and coordinate all activities required to properly implement and service new business
- Â Perform additional tasks and special projects, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior benefits administration experience, preferably in a large-scale Benefit Administration environment
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent follow through and detail orientation skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Highly motivated to provide superior client care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- Hours must be flexible including the ability to work additional during peak season
- Must have intermediate computer skills and experience with MS Office suite (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in Supervisor or Team Leader role
- Minimum 2 years experience in COBRA administration

WORK LOCATION AND HOURS
- Work is typically performed either on site at Trion’s King of Prussia, PA office, or at various customer/Trion locations as required. Some travel is required.
- Must be able to work additional hours during peak periods.
