BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The primary role of the Communications Services Specialist is to support the Communications team in continuing to build Trion’s award-winning communications practice to serve our growing list of clients. In addition to assisting with development of the practice, this person will work with clients to build out and execute their internal employee communications strategies, tactics, and campaigns, and assist with presentations, spreadsheets, timelines, and project plans. This position is heavy on writing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Support the team in writing internal communications that educate our clients’ employees on their benefits, servicing clients, responding to their inquiries, concerns, and requests.
- Provide consultative expertise with regards to developing, managing and executing employee communications strategies, tactics and campaigns; create strong, ongoing client relationships, becoming their trusted partner and advisor on communications issues.
- Write, edit, and revise copy for client communications.
- Develop and manage project plans and timelines associated with internal client communications programs.
- Partner with account teams to respond to client needs around internal communications, including project updates, etc.
- Manage external vendors (e.g., production) to ensure they complete their work on time and budget, and meet quality expectations.
- Support the production of internal training materials and external marketing materials, proposals and presentations promoting the Practice.
- Conduct research and provide support and assistance in coordinating communication processes, resources, and third-party vendors.
- Support the internal and external marketing communications function as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor’s degree communications, marketing, advertising or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in employee benefits communications or related field, developing internal campaigns and communications plans and servicing clients.
- Some client service experience; health and welfare insurance industry experience a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent writing, editing, project management and verbal communication skills; proficiency in social media a plus.
- Familiarity/experience with internal communications principles and strategies
- Intermediate skills with using Microsoft Office tools.
- Able to translate technical concepts into user-friendly terms that make sense for a broader population.
- Able to effectively collaborate with coworkers and subject matter experts.
- Understands change management concepts and communications technologies.
- Organized, detail oriented and deadline focused, able to define and solve problems, and manage timelines and project plans.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage simultaneous projects in an entrepreneurial culture.
- Self-starter and creative thinker.

WORK LOCATION AND HOURS
- Work is typically performed either on site at Trion’ Conshohocken office, or at various customer/Trion locations as required.
- Must be able to work additional hours during peak periods.
