Communications Manager

Trion is seeking an energetic, creative and accomplished communications professional to implement a strategic, multi-faceted communications program that will strengthen the organization’s role and reputation as a leader in its field. The successful candidate will manage full cycle of multiple communications projects and drive company’s general marketing communication efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Identify opportunities to support organizational initiatives and to develop communications materials and programs that promote and publicize these activities.
  • Create communications materials for external and internal clients, including Trion Benefits Briefs (TBB) releases, corporate and client newsletters, news releases, news materials, fact sheets, marketing collateral, program announcements and talking points for publicity of the organization's programs.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with other departments within the organization in order to stay informed of new initiatives, products, and services, and to ensure that all created communications maintain the tone and message of Trion’s brand.
  • Respond to media requests for information, facilitate media interviews and create press releases, as required.
  • Investigate vendor communications services and manage vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate the organization's communications support of special activities.
  • Assist in development and editing of Trion’s website content.
  • Develop ad hoc communications and participate in special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Media Relations, Communications, Journalism or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years writing experience, with preferred focus on direct marketing or financial topics.
  • Previous experience in a marketing agency, advertising agency or corporate communications department is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of marketing and communications services including media relations and public affairs.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent follow through and detail orientation skills.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on deadline.
  • Proven ability to grasp complex concepts and convert them into clear, readable and compelling materials.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Must be flexible with work hours including the ability to work overtime during peak season.
  • Must have computer skills proficiency and experience with MS Office suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Publisher or other desktop publishing software).
  • Creative design experience with working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress is a plus.
