Quality Assurance Tester

Status: Full-time, Exempt
The primary role of the QA Tester is to ensure that client deliverables are within total quality management limits and standards by creating test plans, selecting/generating test data, executing test cases, and tracking issues through to resolution while assisting the entire organization to design and implement QA standards and best practices. This position requires a fundamental understanding of the importance of the QA process in meeting client and organizational expectations relating to cost/pricing, functionality, and timeliness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop, maintain, execute, and validate test plans to assure that the functionality represented in the requirements has been delivered
- Document and analyze test results and recommend corrective action when applicable
- Select/generate test data, calculate and compare expected and actual test case results using SQL, and/or Excel
- Log defects in a detailed, understandable and reproducible manner, tracking all defects through to closure
- Work closely with Project Managers and Technical Analysts to understand client system setup and plan design
- Provide regular status reports to Project Managers, Team Managers and Quality Process Leader
- Perform UAT testing for Trion’s proprietary systems
- Develop and maintain test control databases to ensure their integrity and currency
- Contribute to establishing standard Quality Assurance templates, processes, standards, and guidelines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree or related experience in HR, Business, Information Systems/Computer Science, Math, Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 2 years experience in a quality assurance analyst or testing role
- Experience within Health & Welfare Benefits Administration desired
- Ability to prioritize, solve complex tasks, and recognize and escalate risks without supervision
- Basic Web Application and SQL Database debugging skills
- Experience in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, and MS Access)
- Must be detail-oriented and possess strong analysis, process, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with all levels of staff.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment
