Underwriter Associate

Status: Full-time, Exempt
The primary role of the Associate Underwriter is to maintain efficient and accurate workflow within the Underwriting unit and provide support to the Underwriting team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Pre-renewal analysis and gathering of pertinent underwriting information for account specific policies
- Develop information and recommendations, based on the account analysis that will be used as the basis for the renewal strategy
- Assist Underwriter with coordination of the renewal process, renewal validation, analysis and negotiation
- Assist Underwriter in managing clients’ benefits marketing process: data acquisition, RFP preparation, vendor question resolution, proposal review and analysis, client exhibit preparation and finding presentations
- Utilization and experience reporting, budget reporting, and other on-going reviews
- Organize file activity
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Effective analytical, math and problem solving skills
- Sound judgment
- Strong decision making ability with the confidence to make difficult decisions
- Excellent communication skills required
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Computer skills proficiency and experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required. Working knowledge of pivot tables is preferred
